Once we finish a project, I love to “tour the room” with my client. That sounds kind of funny since after all, it is their space. My point in doing this is to help them to look at the transformed space with a new sense of order. For example, in a closet, I’ll reiterate – as you can see, we decided this is where you’ll store Winter sweaters, and over here is where we have your handbags, etc.
When we finish a project, we are not only transforming the space but hopefully eliminating some old habits (labels can really help too). You are less likely to put work clothes in the Winter Sweaters because they now have a designated space. These designated spaces are how we maintain the order going forward.
And even if things do get a little chaotic once in a while, order is not too far away when we use the spaces we assigned to everything.
